Thanks from Denver’s Children’s Hospital 

Gloria Shepherd received a heartfelt thank you from the Denver’s Children’s Hospital for her dedication to helping children undergoing life threatening experiences.  Ms. Shepherd wrote a children’s book under the pen name Carollee Wagonlite titled “The Life and Times of Baxter the Bat Dog”.  She donates profits from the sale of this book (as well as “Brian Jones Straight From the Heart”) to various charities.  In this case, she donated hundreds of new Baxter books to the hospital to be given free of charge to kids who are admitted. 

The book is a compilation of three stories in which the first story explains how Baxter, a tiny dog, winds up in the hospital and becomes a T.V. star.  The other stories are a Halloween tale and Christmas story.

Hospital officials have stated that when kids go through a life threatening experience and are subjected to treatments, they love to bring their Baxter book with them.  “It provides them some comfort knowing Baxter is with them.”

Ms. Shepherd also uses profits from the Baxter book and “Brian Jones Straight From the Heart” to support various humane charities.

To date, these donations have amounted to thousands of dollars.  As the sales of her books continue to grow, so will the donations to those in need.

Ms. Shepherds' Bio:

Gloria Shepherd is a ghostwriter, author, screenwriter, and columnist. Her writing is extraordinarily varied and prolific— ranging from slapstick comedy to film noir in her screenwriting, and manuscripts ranging from personal biographies to historical fiction, intrigue/suspense and romance/comedy.

Under the pen name Carollee Wagonlite, she has written a three-volume children’s book, The Life & Times of Baxter the Bat Dog.

Her writing style varies even within the same series of books, from story to story. Whereas her first novel, The Compound, is referred to as “an exciting, sophisticated love story,” its sequel, Love, Lust & Terror—Tales From The Compound, is a highly erotic thriller.

Ms. Shepherd ghostwrites for clients ranging from hardened soldiers of fortune, sharing their tales of survival, to “pretty women” depicting tales of ladies in distress. Her ability to quickly and meticulously turn a client’s story idea—be it fiction, non-fiction, or screenplay—into a polished, viable product is described by members of the industry as “amazing, astounding, remarkable!”

Additionally, she ran concurrently three advice columns on the Internet for a number of years—shedding light upon, and solving problems for, people from all walks of life. She wrote on matters of interest ranging from teenagers who contemplated everyday issues such as running away from home, or having abortions, to wives dealing with abusive husbands and, in turn, husbands dealing with personal issues such as drug and alcohol abuse.
